Starter Library Guide
How to clear the Starter Library tutorial map in Clean The Library. Twelve sections 1A–1L, first-session routing, and when to graduate to Classic Library.
Why Start on the Starter Library?
The Starter Library is Clean The Library's single-floor tutorial wing with twelve Roblox-themed shelf sections (1A–1L). Retro Library and StarMarine designed it so new players learn pickup, drop, hint usage, and shelf glow feedback without the overwhelm of 31 Classic sections or four Grand floors. If your first join drops you into thousands of scattered books, check lobby map selection for the Starter option.
Starter section codes look like Classic codes (1A, 1B, etc.) but themes differ completely—Starter 1A is Rules & Moderation while Classic 1A is Horror. Our Starter Library map page lists all twelve wings with example title keywords. Never transfer Starter muscle memory directly to Classic without re-studying Classic shelf sections.
Watch the video below for Clean The Library gameplay showing pickup rhythm and upgrade basics from verified community footage—pair with written sections before your first shelve attempt.
Core Loop on Starter Map
Step one: pick up a book with E (PC), RT (controller), or tap (mobile). Step two: read the spine title or press H for a hint showing the section code. Step three: walk to the matching wing endcap (1A–1L). Step four: place the book and confirm positive glow feedback before moving on.
Establish one hub pile near spawn—dump unsorted books there, batch by wing letter, then sprint deliveries. Even on Starter, co-op etiquette applies: call your target wing aloud so two players do not shelve the same aisle simultaneously.
Finish A Shelf badge progress applies on any map—completing rows earns Stat Points toward magic unlocks on Classic and Grand maps. Starter clears teach mechanics; meaningful progression continues on larger wings.
Section Recognition Tips
Rules & Moderation (1A) titles mention bans, reports, or moderation policy. Avatar & Catalog (1B) covers limiteds and catalog items. Developers (1E) and Brainrot (1F) are easiest to spot from meme-heavy or DevEx-related spines.
Obby/Parkour (1H) and Military (1L) often have action-oriented cover art. When two sections feel ambiguous, zoom with right-click on PC before burning a hint—see PC controls for bindings.
Use our shelf lookup tool on a second device if a title stumps you mid-run. Gradually reduce lookups as you memorize the twelve Starter themes.
Graduating to Classic Library
Switch to Classic Library when you can shelve Starter books without hints on most spines and understand hub pile discipline. Classic adds a second floor (2A–2Q), four permanent keys, five magic abilities, and the Clean The Library badge chain.
Read getting started guide next for key collection and magic milestones. Easy Mode on Grand Library (July 2026) offers another low-pressure path if Classic second-floor palette overlap feels steep—see Easy Mode guide.
